Suzanne L. Childress

“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” – Benjamin Franklin

Suzanne L. Childress is a passionate attorney dedicated to helping those who have been injured as a result of negligence or harmed as a result of insurance bad faith misconduct. She is originally from Ridgeland, Mississippi, and currently resides in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Childress’ practice at VandenBout Law, PLLC, is primarily focused on helping clients recover benefits rightfully owed to them under their insurance policy. Additionally, Ms. Childress handles personal injury matters involving motor vehicle accidents.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Childress practiced personal injury litigation and insurance bad faith law at a couple of large firms in Denver, where her practice focused primarily on motor vehicle accidents and premises liability matters. During her career, Ms. Childress has spent several years successfully representing hundreds of injured plaintiffs and has recovered millions of dollars for her clients, including a verdict in 2022 for an injured plaintiff in excess of $3.4 million.

Prior to moving to Colorado, Ms. Childress opened and oversaw a satellite office for a large regional plaintiff law firm based out of Memphis, Tennessee where she practiced personal injury law. While at the firm, she developed experience in medical malpractice, premises liability, trucking accidents, and motor vehicle accidents. The transition to Colorado was precipitated by her interest in bad faith insurance litigation and Colorado’s intolerance for insurance company misconduct involving unreasonable delay or denial in the payment of claims.

Ms. Childress earned her B.S.B.A. in Marketing and Management from the University of Southern Mississippi. After graduation, she worked as a sales professional in the pharmaceutical industry and thereafter, decided to pursue her law degree. While attending law school at the University of Mississippi, Ms. Childress received the American Jurisprudence Award for academic excellence in Pre-Trial Practice and was chosen to serve as a member of the Dean’s Leadership Council. While a law student, she also participated in the Elder Law Clinic where she assisted elderly citizens in the community with estate planning matters.

In her spare time, she enjoys running, biking, hiking, yoga, exploring the beautiful state of Colorado and spending time with her family, friends and her Golden doodle, Lola.
